About
Jessica Eva Slater is an Illustrator and Costume Designer and her greatest love is storytelling.
Depicting character, nature and history has always been a fascination either through an illustration or costume design but with a certain charm. She graduated from London College of Fashion with a Bachelor of Arts in Costume for Performance.
Jessica has done work experience with Netflix, London-based Costume Designer Takis and Game of Thrones Costume Designer Michele Clapton.
After studying Costume Design for Film and Theatre in London, Jessica moved to Paris where she worked with a number of theatres including La Comédie-Française.
She worked alongside Renato Bianchi, who entered La Comédie-Française in 1965 and Sylvie Lombart on 'La Locandiera' production.
It was an unforgettable experience and everything she had dreamt of when making the move to Paris.
During the years she spent in France, Jessica drew everyday. Walking through the Parisian streets, visiting the museums and galleries, taking part in art classes and sketching at cafés, Paris permanently influenced her work.
She is now based in Edinburgh, Scotland, working as a freelance Illustrator & Designer.
Jessica's work focuses on the bold and feminine, inspired by books, Scotland's wild nature and Gothic architecture, her life in Paris and love of French fashion.
